Disabled Person Battered At Elmhurst Hotel: Cops

In another case, two men were arrested in a fight near a business, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated battery to a disabled person, aggravated assault, domestic battery, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Battery on disabled person

  • Anita L. Henry, 28, of Maywood, and Jacques L. Thomas, 25, of Houston, were arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on charges of aggravated battery to a disabled person and two counts of battery. Henry also faces a count of aggravated battery to an officer. Police responded to a report of a fight. Both were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated assault

  • Adrian Gonzales Lopez, 28, of Addison, was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday near a business at 671 W. North Ave. on charges of aggravated assault and resisting a police officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, a 21-year-old Addison man was arrested on two counts of battery and a count of resisting an officer. He was released. Police said they responded to a report of a fight.
  • A 40-year-old Aurora man was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on charges of aggravated assault (two counts), resisting a police officer and disorderly conduct. Police said the man refused to leave and assaulted security. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 35-year-old Plainfield woman was arrested Saturday on two counts of domestic battery. The incident occurred about 3 p.m. April 6 in the 600 block of South York Street. Police said two women were arguing when one got physical. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Weapons charge

  • Daniel Palacios, 25, of Evanston, was arrested about 7 p.m. Thursday at North and Clinton avenues on two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. He was stopped for speeding. Police said Palacios had loaded guns without possessing a valid concealed carry license. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 31-year-old Palatine man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Robert Palmer Drive on charges of DUI and improper lighting. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 25-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue and Lake Street on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, damage to a highway structure, improper lane usage and damage to a city parkway. He was taken to the police station and then released.
