Domestic Battery, Road Rage: Elmhurst Cops

A man was accused of pushing a woman onto a bed and threatening her, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, road rage, a domestic disturbance, a stolen car, DUI, solicitation without a permit and a drunk person. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 44-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested Tuesday on two domestic battery charges. The incident occurred about 11 p.m. New Year's Eve in the 500 block of North Adele Street. Police said the man pushed a woman onto a bed and threatened her. He turned himself in on a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 31-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of North Addison Avenue was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Monday at his house on charges of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. The man's girlfriend told officers that he battered her, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 38-year-old Northlake man was arrested about 6 p.m. Wednesday at Emroy Avenue and Lake Street on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the man was involved in a road rage incident. The victim told officers that the man chased after him and threw several objects at his car, causing damage. The suspect was released.

Domestic disturbance

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of South Poplar Avenue. A man told officers that his mother threw a paper towel roll at him during an argument, but the mother denied it. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no visible injuries.

Stolen car

  • A man told police that his car was stolen between April 1, 2024, and March 21, 2025, at Joe's Auto & Truck Repair, 160 W. Grand Ave. He left it there to be serviced. He reported the theft Monday. An investigation is pending.

Violation of order

  • A Berkeley woman was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Monday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on a charge of violating an order of protection. Police were called because of a suspected retail theft, but the woman did not have stolen goods. But officers found out about her violating the order. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 26-year-old Oak Brook man was arrested about 6 p.m. Monday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI (drugs), DUI (combination of drugs and alcohol), marijuana possession, driving too fast for conditions and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.

Soliciting without permit

  • A 33-year-old New Orleans man was cited about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Sunnyside Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a permit.

Fugitive from justice

  • A 38-year-old woman was arrested about 2 a.m. Wednesday at York Street and Industrial Avenue on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. She is wanted in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Drunk person

  • Police responded to a report of a drunk person who may have been involved in a fight about 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no visible injuries. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.
