Elmhurst Cop 'Euthanized' Sick Skunk In Neighborhood: Police
In another case, an irate woman pushed a printer off a table, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a sick skunk, disorderly conduct, retail theft, a slashed tire, a domestic disturbance, car burglary and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Skunk shot
- An officer responded to a report of a sick skunk about 10 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of North Emroy Avenue. The officer "humanely euthanized" the animal.

- A woman became irate and pushed a printer off a table about 8 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North York Street, causing it to fall to the ground and become damaged. The woman admitted to it. She said was told she would be cited on a disorderly conduct charge.
Suspicious
- A woman was seen checking on car door handles and entered an unlocked car about 3:30 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of West Brush Hill Road. The car was rummaged through, but nothing appeared to be stolen. The woman was described as white, having brown hair and last seen wearing white boots, black pants, a black shirt, a necklace, a black mask, and a red and white baseball hat.
Retail theft

- A 44-year-old Oak Lawn man was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on two counts of retail theft. He was also wanted on a Cook County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Officers responded to a retail theft in progress about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. They took a woman to the police station, where she was found with a controlled substance. She was released pending review of video footage and lab results.
Slashed tire
- A person in the 100 block of East Grand Avenue told police Friday that someone cut his tire. An investigation is pending.
Domestic disturbance
- Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road. A woman said she argued with her husband, but denied hitting him. Her husband said the same. They were separated for the night.
Car burglary
- Someone broke a car's rear hatch window overnight Friday in the 600 block of Van Auken Street. A container filled with clothing was stolen.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop the driver of a tan Buick LeSabre for speeding shortly before midnight Saturday at Interstate 290 and North Avenue. The driver did not stop and was last seen heading east on I-290.
