Elmhurst D205 Develops Curriculum 'Maps' for K-12 students

The curriculum has been developed by District 205 teachers.

Elmhurst, IL - On March 8, the new K-12 English Language Arts curriculum was presented to the Board of Education.

This curriculum has been developed by District 205 teachers and is aligned to the new Illinois Learning Standards.

The curriculum maps represent a guaranteed and viable curriculum which has been articulated kindergarten through 12th grade. For a detailed explanation, please see the Learning and Teaching Committee Report in the March 8 Board Highlights document (elmhurst205.org/BOE_highlights).

Resources that will support the curriculum continue to be determined by the Curriculum Development Team. These will be presented to members of the Board on April 5 at the Learning and Teaching Committee meeting (6:15 p.m.), with a special Board of Education meeting following at 7:30 p.m. to approve the displaying of the resources. They will then be on display at the District 205 Center for the public to view during the month of April.
