Elmhurst Man Back With Loud Music: Cops

In another case, a resident reported a suspicious person trying to sell a phone and AirPods, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving loud music, a suspicious seller, marijuana smokers, a threatening call, a possibly lost man, theft and soliciting without a permit. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Loud music

  • A 66-year-old man who lives in the 700 block of South Saylor Avenue was cited about 11 p.m. Wednesday at his house on a charge of causing a nuisance with loud music. Police received a complaint the previous night, but found no violation. He has been cited several times over the years for this offense.

Suspicious seller

  • The driver of a white Kia SUV pulled into a driveway and tried to sell a person a phone and AirPods about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Oak Street. No transaction occurred. The driver left.

Smoking marijuana

  • Police received a report of two people smoking marijuana near Pick Park. Officers found the people, who admitted to smoking, police said. Officers cited a 67-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, both from Villa Park, on charges of using marijuana in a protected location. They were released. Pick Park is in Elmhurst's only residential neighborhood west of Route 83, next to Villa Park.

Threatening call

  • A man made a threatening phone call Tuesday to Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. An officer called the man and informed him that he was being issued a no-trespass notice for the hospital.

Possibly lost

  • An elderly man appeared confused and possibly lost about 8 a.m. Wednesday near Crescent and Linden avenues. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Theft

  • A resident in the 400 block of North Highview Avenue told police about a suspect taking the resident's front yard plant about 7 p.m. Wednesday. The resident asked that the plant be returned. The suspect did so. An officer issued the person a no-trespass notice for the property.

Soliciting without a permit

  • A 22-year-old Midland, Texas, man was cited about 1 p.m. Monday at Ridgeland Avenue and Grantley Lane on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
