Elmhurst Man Hits Nurse During Ruckus: Cops
In another case, a local man was charged after pushing a phone out of someone's hand, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of battery, domestic battery, DUI, retail theft and criminal damage. Here is information from Elmhurst's latest arrest log:
Battery
- A 77-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home on a battery charge. Police said the man was agitated and loud, prompting complaints from residents. When a nurse tried to intervene, he struck her, police said. He was released.
- A 57-year-old man from Elmhurst, residing in the 200 block of East Crescent Ave., was arrested around 6 p.m. on Wednesday on a battery charge. Police reported that he struck another man's phone out of his hand in the 1000 block of South York Street. The suspect was released.

- A 29-year-old woman who lives at Elmhurst's Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave., was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on a domestic battery charge. Police said she struck a man with a shoe. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 20-year-old Bolingbrook woman was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of St. Charles Road on two domestic battery counts. Police said they responded to an argument and found a man with scratches to his neck, shoulder and chest. The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 70-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license and failing to wear a seatbelt. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 25-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of North York Street on charges of DUI and possession of open alcohol in a car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 45-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of Evergreen Avenue was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of North York Street on charges of DUI (drugs) and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
Retail theft

- A 63-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, both of Chicago, were arrested about 9 p.m. Monday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on retail theft charges. Police said they stole liquor. The 63-year-old was also charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The 56-year-old was charged with obstructing identification. They were released.
Damage
- A 29-year-old Lombard man was arrested Sunday on a criminal property damage charge. He turned himself in on a warrant. Police said he slashed three tires on a woman's car on March 8 in the 100 block of Fellows Court.
