This Elmhurst Police Headache May Go Away
The city is reviewing a concept to redevelop the property in question.

ELMHURST, IL – Over the years, Clarion Inn has seen its share of police calls, including alleged prostitution.
In March, Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, received a chronic nuisance warning from the city. The situation is similar to the one at the Extended Stay America hotel on Grand Avenue.
A couple of weeks ago, a City Council committee reviewed a concept for redeveloping the Clarion Inn property.

The proposal is to tear down the hotel and replace it with a warehouse, according to the city.
If the developer chooses to go forward, a full zoning application would be required.

Patch left a message for comment with a hotel manager Thursday.
Chicago-based Logistics Property Co. is the developer, represented by lawyer Peter Coules.
Asked about truck volume at the committee meeting, the developer's representative said 10 to 15 trucks are possible at the peak hour, according to meeting minutes. They promised a traffic study as part of the application.
The hotel is next to Elmhurst's public works garage and industrial businesses.
One concern raised at the meeting was how the development would affect traffic at the five-legged intersection that includes Riverside Drive and Route 83.
The city has received state money to improve that intersection.
