Heroin Found in Sock of Man Asking Elmhurst Police for a Ride
He also had a hypodermic needle, police report.

Elmhurst, IL - A man who contacted police for a ride around 3 a.m. March 25 was arrested after he acknowledged he had a hypodermic needle.
Joseph A Whelan, 22 of the 600 block of N Wisconsin in Villa Park, was also found to have a bag of heroin and a bag containing heroin residue in his right sock, according to Elmhurst police.
Whelan was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail, police reported.
