IC Catholic Prep Knights Volleyball Teams ended practice early one night last month to lend a hand to a very worthy cause. For the second year in a row, the ICCP Knights Volleyball players headed up to Schaumburg to help Feed My Starving Children package and box nutrient-rich food which was shipped to a hunger outreach organization in Haiti.
In the weeks leading up to their visit to FMSC, the Knights Volleyball teams also collected donations from friends, families, and fans who attended the first two home games of the season. Team captains Delaney D’Amore, Rory Manion, and Kimmy Martino presented FMSC with a cash donation of just over $400, on behalf of ICCP Volleyball, that will be used to buy supplies needed to create the food packages.
FMSC is a Christian nonprofit that provides nutritionally complete meals for starving, malnourished and hungry people in nearly 70 countries. The prepackaged dry meals, costing less than a quarter each to make, and are funded and assembled by donor-volunteers in the United States. Our in-country partners use the food to prevent starvation and curb malnourishment in children and families worldwide. To learn more about FMSC or to register to volunteer, please visit www.fmsc.org.
