Lounging Lawn Chair Day Drinker Cited Outside Grocery Store

Elmhurst, IL - Police spotted a man with a can of beer sitting on a lawn chair around 9:18 a.m. March 15 in front of Jewel Osco at 153 E Schiller.

The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the man's breath, and he told the officer he had been drinking and he was also on prescription medication, according to Elmhurst police.

The 42-year-old Chicago man was cited for possession of open alcohol in public and public intoxication, police reported.
