Man Charged With Underage Elmhurst Party: Cops

The party in a local neighborhood created excessive noise, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst officers handled cases involving an underage party, a suspicious elderly man with a girl, theft, a custody dispute and a dog bite. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Underage party

  • A 54-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of South Cambridge Avenue was cited about 11 p.m. Friday on charges of hosting an underage party at his house and excessive noise.

Suspicious

  • Police were told about a young girl who appeared distressed with an elderly man about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of South York Street. Officers could not find the man or the girl.

Theft

  • A man in the 100 block of Diversey Avenue told police Friday that a suspect refused to return the man's car after borrowing it. The other person told police he would turn it over.

Custody dispute

  • Officers responded to a custody dispute Saturday in the 500 block of North Michigan Street. The parties were told to negotiate the terms in civil court.

Dog bite

  • A woman told police she was bitten by a dog about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Elmhurst Animal Care Center, 850 S. Riverside Drive. DuPage County Animal Services was notified.

Car burglary

  • A car was burglarized overnight Friday at the apartment building at 130 E. Grand Ave. The ignition was damaged.
