Missing Endangered Elmhurst Man Has Been Found

Thomas Schiavone has been found safe in Wisconsin.

Thomas Schiavone, the 67-year-old Elmhurst man who went missing Friday, has been found by authorities in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Schiavone is reportedly safe and in generally good health, according to the City of Elmhurst.

Authorities believe he took a train from Chicago to Kenosha on Friday. Someone reported he looked confused or lost.

Kenosha authorities did a name check on him, revealing his missing person information on the The National Crime Information Center system.

Elmhurst detectives are heading to Kenosha to speak with Schiavone and to help him return home to Elmhurst, the city reports.

Schiavone went missing around noon Nov. 6 from his home. He was last seen by his caretaker before he left on foot. He reportedly has the mental capacity of a 10 year old, and he can’t take care of himself.

Code Red alerts went out Sunday evening through the city’s notification system, asking for the public’s help to find him. Police used search dogs, bike patrols and area grid searches. They canvassed Schiavone’s neighborhood and interviewed his neighbors, according to Elmhurst police.
