Overnight Closures Set for Roosevelt Road beneath York Street

The closures are necessary to make improvements to the bridge on York Street over Roosevelt Road.

Elmhurst, IL - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that temporary, overnight lane closures will take place on Roosevelt Road (Illinois 38) beneath York Street, in Elmhurst, beginning, weather permitting, the week of Feb. 15.

The closures are necessary to make improvements to the bridge on York Street over Roosevelt Road. The project will install protective shielding on the bridge. It is expected to be completed in summer 2016, weather permitting.

Motorists should check for traffic alerts and use alternate routes. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
