Principal From Elmhurst Found Guilty Of DUI: Records

Described as "belligerent," the principal denied he had been drinking, according to a police report.

ELMHURST, IL – Bolingbrook High School's principal, who was arrested on a drunken-driving charge in December in Elmhurst, was found guilty this week, according to DuPage County Court records.

The court issued its finding Monday.

During his arrest, Principal Jason Pascavage, who lives on Concord Street in unincorporated Elmhurst, denied he had been drinking and informed police of his principal's position, according to the police report. At one point, police said Pascavage got on his knees in the booking area, refusing to leave. He was described as "belligerent."

For his sentence, Pascavage received a year of court supervision. If he violates criminal laws during that time, the court may hand down a stiffer sentence for the DUI charge. He is required to inform the court of any arrests.

Pascavage, 46, has been Bolingbrook High's principal since 2016. His salary is $214,000.

Bolingbrook High's enrollment is about 3,300, about a quarter larger than Elmhurst's York High School.

Elmhurst police stopped Pascavage about 1 a.m. Dec. 17. It was a Tuesday; school was scheduled for later in the morning.
