Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Project to Begin March 28
Street closures on select blocks of Jackson Street are expected.

Elmhurst, Illinois - On March 28, weather permitting, the city’s hired general contractor will begin making critical improvements to the sanitary lift station located on Saylor Avenue and Jackson Street.
Construction crews will begin installing a new, 24-inch gravity sewer on Jackson Street from the lift station west to Washington Street.

Due to the technical and difficult nature of this work, and to ensure safety of the residents and the worksite during pipe installation, weekly road closures on select blocks of Jackson Street from Saylor Avenue to Washington Street will take place.
Notices and updates will be delivered weekly to outline the sections of roads to be closed. Detour routes will be posted during construction.

These improvements are essential to the completion of the Southwest Wet Weather Control Facility, which provides sanitary sewer backup relief for more than 2,300 homes.
