Truck Hanging off a Bridge in the Area of Lake Street Frontage Road and I-294

Unconfirmed, preliminary reports at 6 a.m. Thursday indicate that a pickup truck is hanging off of a bridge in the area of Interstate 294 at Lake Street Frontage Road, where Lake, I-294 and I-290 come together in northeast Elmhurst.

Interstate 290 is closed at Lake Street, and reports are that "four southbound lanes blocked due to the accident on Lake Street Frontage Road," according to Elmhurst Patch's real-time traffic map.

Preliminary information indicates another vehicle was involved in a crash at the site.

Elmhurst and Northlake police and fire departments are reporting to the scene. No word yet on injuries.

On the other end of town, westbound Roosevelt Road is experience severe flooding between Hillside and Elmhurst, according to reports. A three-car crash has been reported on westbound Roosevelt at York Road.
