Unlicensed Solicitors In Elmhurst Neighborhoods: Cops

One solicitor was from Bozeman, Montana. Others hailed from the Chicago suburbs.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police released their reports on those arrested and cited in recent days. Here is information from the reports:

Unlicensed solicitors

  • A 23-year-old Bozeman, Montana, man was cited about 11 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North Maison Court on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
  • A 37-year-old Melrose Park man was cited about 4 p.m. Saturday near Orchard and Hill streets on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
  • A 30-year-old Wood Dale man and a 26-year-old Algonquin man were cited about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South Arlington Avenue on charges of soliciting without a permit.

Retail theft

  • A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2 a.m. Wednesday on a retail theft charge. The incident occurred at Thorntons convenience store, 476 N. York St. Police said the man fled, but was later found in West Chicago. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge. Police said he was stealing gas at Thorntons convenience store, 476 N. York St. He was released.

Violation of a protection order

  • A 25-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of Fellows Court was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Thursday on an Elgin police warrant charging a violation of an order of protection. He was arrested after a car crash. He was released to Elgin police.

DUI

  • A 45-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of North Evergreen Avenue was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the Thorntons convenience store, 476 N. York St., on charges of DUI (drugs) and driving an uninsured car. An officer checking on the man's well-being found him impaired behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 65-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 200 block of East Columbia Avenue was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at York Street and North Avenue on charges of DUI, driving too fast for conditions, driving on the wrong side of the road, improperly using lanes and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 36-year-old Indian Head Park man was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at North and Highland avenues on charges of DUI, disobeying a stop sign, improperly turning at an intersection and improperly using lanes. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 23-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Willow Street on charges of DUI, speeding, driving an uninsured car, driving with open alcohol and possessing marijuana. He was taken to the police station and then released.
