Woman Arrested In Neighborhood Disturbance: Cops

In another case, a woman reported youths who repeatedly knocked on her door, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving battery, domestic disturbances, a concerned neighbor, trespassing, dog bites, a false police report and disorderly conduct. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Battery

  • A 19-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of North Virginia Lane on a battery charge. She was accused of striking a 24-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the same block as the incident and was wanted on four DuPage County warrants alleging failure to appear in court. Police said the incident took place in the 900 block of Virginia Lane. As part of the investigation, a 20-year-old woman was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Everyone was released.

Disorderly conduct

  • A resident in the 600 block of South Sunnyside Avenue told police that youths repeatedly knocked on her door about 10 p.m. Friday.

Domestic disturbances

  • A woman showed up in the police station's lobby to report on a domestic disturbance that occurred about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of North Michigan Street. She told officers that she and her ex-husband had gotten into a heated argument earlier in the day. She wanted the incident documented.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Hagans Avenue. Both people agreed to separate for the night.

  • Police received an email Wednesday from a concerned resident about neighbors who are dealing with several health conditions in the 500 block of South Stratford Avenue. The officers provided the victims with information about DuPage County Senior Services and other available resources.

Trespassing

  • Shell gas station, 301 W. Butterfield Road, asked police Thursday to serve a person with a no-trespass notice. The police did so.

Dog bites

  • A tenant told police Thursday that a dog bit him in the hand after he left the elevator in Elm Creek Apartments, 1 Elm Creek Drive.
  • A person reported being bitten by a German shepherd about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West Lorraine Avenue. A DuPage County Animal Services bite report was completed.

Disorderly conduct

  • A resident in the 600 block of South Sunnyside Avenue told police that youths repeatedly knocked on her door about 10 p.m. Friday.

Walking sex offender

  • An officer contacted a person who was walking in the middle of the road about 9:30 p.m. Friday at York Street and Roosevelt Road. The person, who was a registered sex offender, was found to be complying with state requirements.

False report

  • Police received a false report about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Third Street. An investigation is pending.

Fall

  • An officer and medics responded to a woman who fell about 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A location was not listed. The woman showed no signs of an injury, but she complained of pain from a previous tumble. She was taken to the hospital.

Retail theft

  • Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, told police about a retail theft that occurred about 10 a.m. Saturday. The report was made more than four hours later.

Damage

  • Youths damaged the register counter's employees-only door about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at McDonald's, 190 E. Butterfield Road. They then fled. An investigation is pending.

DUI

  • A 51-year-old Schiller Park man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Virginia Lane and Diversey Avenue on charges of DUI, driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured car, transportation of open alcohol and improper parking on the roadway. Police said the man was found passed out behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released. He was wanted on two DuPage County warrants alleging failure to appear in court.
