Woman Stays Overnight In Elmhurst Restaurant: Police
She told officers she locked herself in the restroom overnight, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a passed-out woman, dog attacks, unwanted people, harassment, an unconscious man and harassment. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Passed out
- A woman was found passed out in the restroom about 10 a.m. Friday at Maharaj Indian Grill, 117 N. Addison Ave. That was about an hour before the restaurant opened for the day. The woman said she was suffering from withdrawal and had locked herself in the restroom overnight. She was issued a no-trespass notice and taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

- A woman told police another dog attacked hers about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Elmcrest Street. She was walking her dog on the sidewalk when the offending dog ran out of its owner's front door. After the attack, the dog returned to its owner. The victim's dog showed no signs of injury. A DuPage County animal bite report was completed.
- A dog owner told police about 4 p.m. Saturday that his dog bit a neighbor's child in the owner's backyard about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Pick Avenue. An officer tried to contact the child, but the child's grandfather said they did not want police involvement and refused to provide any information. A DuPage County animal bite report was completed.
Unwanted person
- An unwanted person was reported about 9 a.m. Thursday at Butterfield Chiropractic, 287 W. Butterfield Road. The person was served with a no-trespass notice.
- A person refused to leave Elmhurst Public Library about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The person was served with a no-trespass notice.
Harassment

- A resident on Birch Tree Court told police Thursday that a stranger had been harassing her at home and work. An investigation is pending.
Unconscious man
- An unconscious man was found about 2:30 p.m. Friday on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue. A bottle of alcohol was next to him. He was cited on a charge of public possession of liquor and taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Harassing customers
- A man was harassing customers about 4:30 p.m. Friday outside Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. He was served with a no-trespass notice.
Returning repeatedly
- A person had been escorted off the property of Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave., and returned several times. The person was issued a no-trespass notice Sunday.
Vandalism
- Someone scrawled graffiti about 8:30 a.m. Thursday on a yard sign in the 100 block of South Grace Avenue.
Parking violation
- A driver for Super Ego, a trucking firm at 677 N. Larch Ave., was cited about 2 p.m. Thursday on a charge of parking in a prohibited area. Police said a semi-truck was blocking another company's driveway. Parking has become an issue in this area of the industrial park.
