Driver Accused Of DUI, Leaving Crash Scene New Year's Day: Cops

Arrests made, citations given and reports received by Frankfort police and Will Co. Sheriff's Office from Dec. 27-Jan. 2.

FRANKFORT, IL — The following information is from the Frankfort Police Department unless otherwise noted. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Retail Theft

Darious T. McWane, 25, of the 600 block of North Long Avenue, was issued a notice to appear in court for a charge of retail theft stemming from an incident Dec. 14 in the 21000 block of South LaGrange Road. The NTA was issued Dec. 27. His court date is Feb. 8.

DUI

Kathan J. Thomas, 18, of the 22500 block of Nature Creek Circle, was cited for driving under the influence, driving without insurance, improper lane use and driving without a driver's license on his person during a Jan. 1 traffic stop at around 1:15 a.m., near 88th Avenue and Stuenkel Road.

Leaving Accident Scene

Julian Childers, 23, of 300 block of Providence Drive, Matteson, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving with improper lighting, driving without a front license plate and disobeying a traffic control signal following a Jan. 1 crash near South Harlem Avenue and Volmer Road, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office.
