Eugene Savaria Announces Re-Election Run For Frankfort Village Trustee

Savaria has served as a Trustee since 2020, and was re-elected in 2021.

FRANKFORT, IL — Current Village of Frankfort Trustee Eugene Savaria has announced his candidacy for re-election to the village board as part of the Consolidated Election on April 1.

Savaria began his first term as trustee in January 2020 appointed by the village board, and was re-election in April 2021, according to a release. Savaria has been a resident of Frankfort since 1996. He and his wife Jeri have raised three children in the town.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Savaria works in investment banking.

As a trustee, Savaria has dedicated his efforts towards revitalizing the village’s aging infrastructure and its sustainable growth, according to a release.

"The successful growth of the Village has necessitated the expansion of parking in the downtown area. We were able to secure funding from the State of Illinois and prioritized these projects this past year," Savaria said.

Savaria has played a pivotal role in welcoming successful businesses to Frankfort, including The Wine Thief and Aleck Pain to Performance. He continues to support exciting new additions such as Senso Sushi, Rustic Knead, Nautical Bowls and The Jolly Giraffe.

Savaria envisions a vibrant community for his grandchildren and beyond, with the recent opening of Planet Fitness and future development of Chick-fil-A, a release states.

“Living in Frankfort and serving our community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” Savaria said in a release. “I have had the honor of serving with a great board and working with a dedicated Village Staff. With your support, I look forward to continuing the growth and improvement of our community while upholding the high standards that brought my family here 29 years ago.”
