Kansas Street Water Tower Painting Project Moves Forward
The Frankfort Board approved an engineering services agreement for the project.
FRANKFORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Frankfort Village Board approved an engineering services agreement for the Kansas Street water tower painting project.
The engineering services agreement is with Dixon Engineering for $52,900, Trustee Michael Leddin said.
The agreement is for the preparation of design plans and specifications, bidding documents and bidding process support, and construction-related services.

"In 2022, Dixon Engineering inspected the 50,000-gallon cone roof water tower, identifying significant coating failures such as rust bleed-through, micro-cracking and topcoat delamination," Leddin said.
The estimated cost for repainting is $826,000, and a $250,000 state grant has been secured. The Frankfort Area Historical Society also raised $65,000 through the "Save the Water Tower" campaign.
