Lincoln-Way Central’s Mathletes Advance To Regional Competition
Lincoln-Way Central's Mathletes team will compete in regionals next month after a close contest that scored the team 15 medals.

NEW LENOX, IL — Lincoln-Way Central's Mathletes are on their way to regional competition next month after edging out their sister schools in District 210 in close division conference competition.
The team brought home 671 points against Lincoln-Way West’s 669 points in the Southwest Suburban Blue Division Conference Finals. The students earned 15 medals, including five first-place, in each area of competition.

- Seniors Kalei Bass and Kathleen Findlay, 2nd
- Sophomores Jay Parker and Sarthak Shah, 2nd
- Seniors Justin Lundy and Jonah Haskins,. 1st. They earned a perfect score.
Competitors in the calculators category and their medals are:
- Freshman/Sophomore team: Anna Bethke, Nolan Cales, Ellen Cunningham, Brendan Born, Philip Donaghey, and Andy Habib, 1st
- Junior Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions team: Alec Boyens, George Burchfield, Ryan Curran, Jared Kreis, Jay Parker, and Chelsea Verheyen, 1st
- Senior Trig Equations team: Kalei Bass, Jeremy Brown, Jonah Haskins, Emma Schueler, Behnam Shamsaddin, and Michael Zhan, 1st
- Senior Functions and Limits team: Jonah Haskins, Ennis Lange, Justin Lundy, Behnam Shamsaddin, Brent Thomson, and Joel Veih, 1st
