Mangia! Enrico's To Host Spaghetti Eating Contest
Enrico's Italian Dining in Frankfort kicks off first of three spaghetti eating contests July 22.
FRANKFORT, IL — Italian dining is well known for its abundance of family, friends and food. Enrico's Italian Dining in Frankfort is raising the stakes by asking people to take part in its Get Sauced Spaghetti Eating Contest.
The contest is scheduled to take place over three rounds beginning July 22, and continuing July 29 and Aug. 5, according to Enrico's Owner and General Manager Harry D'Ercole. Twelve contestants in each round will be served a pound of spaghetti, and whoever eats the most in three minutes will be declared the winner for that round, with a grand champion to be decided among the winners of the previous rounds, D'Ercole told Patch.
Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a gift bag with two of Enrico's pasta sauces to take home. Each winner from each round will receive a $100 Enrico’s gift card. The grand champion will receive a $300 Enrico’s gift card, the championship trophy, a bottle of champagne and two jars of pasta sauce.
