Summit Hill D161 Loses Director of Business

After only one year with Summit Hill District 161, Susan Krautstrunk, director of business and transportation, is resigned her position. She informed the Board of Education earlier this month.

Kraustrunk's existing contract concludes June 30. When asked the reason for the short-lived tenure with D161, the outgoing chief operating officer for the district told Patch she had "other plans."

Supt. Barb Rains is anticipated to be reviewing applications. 

The board accepted Kraustrunk's resignation during its April 10 meeting, where she was lauded for her professional expertise.

"Thank you for all you've done to help us understand district financials," Vice President Joy Murphy said.
