Trick-Or-Treating Hours Set By Village Board
The Frankfort Village Board of Trustees at its Monday meeting also approved a special use permit for a new business in town.
FRANKFORT, IL — Trick-or-treaters can start planning their routes after the Village of Frankfort Board of Trustees approved Halloween hours at its Monday meeting.
The Village set the hours between 3-7 p.m. Oct. 31 for trick-or-treating in the village. Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle also notified residents of a Safety Trunk-Or-Treat event, hosted by the Frankfort Police Department, to be held from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 30 at the Breidert Green parking lot.
The event will start with the E.F. Bucko costume parade followed by trunk-or-treating. Local businesses and organizations will pass out candy and trinkets from their decorated trunks to the children.

Auto Service Shop Gets Green Light
The board unanimously approved a special use permit for $how & Go Kustomz to operate at 161 Ontario St. Unit 3. The auto service business will perform custom wheel installation and suspension upgrades of passenger cars and trucks, according to information in the board meeting packet.
The Frankfort Plan Commission recommended at its Sept. 23 meeting that the Village board accept grant the special use permit, under the following conditions:

- The rear outdoor storage areas be screened from view from Ontario Street.
- Restoring the storage area to a traditional gravel parking lot.
- Limiting the storage of disabled vehicles to two weeks.
- Restripe the parking lot to provide adequate parking spaces.

A brief recap of other items discussed at the Monday Village Board of Trustees meeting:
- The Village will continue branch collection until Oct. 11. NuWay Disposal will continue yard waste and branch pick-up through November. Bundles and yard waste bags must have a yard waste sticker affixed to them for pick-up.
- The Village will provide free curbside leaf collection from Oct. 18 through Nov. 29.
- There are three remaining Country Markets left for the year, on Oct. 10, 11 and 24.
- Winners from the Old Plank Road Trail 5K are posted on the Village's website. The top male finisher was Ignacio Ramos, of Homewood, with a time of 21:43.97. The top female finisher was Jodi Haefner, of Frankfort, with a time of 27:03.58.
