Veterans Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In Frankfort
Find out how the holiday will affect village agencies, institutions and services Friday.

FRANKFORT, IL — This year, Veterans Day is officially Saturday, Nov. 11, and while events honoring U.S. military men and women will be held this weekend, many institutions around Frankfort will observe the holiday Friday.
Here's a look at how some places and services in the village will be handling Veterans Day:
Schools: No classes for Elementary School District 159 and Lincoln-Way High School District 210. However, Summit Hill School District 161 and Frankfort School District 157-C will have classes.

Village Government: Village Hall and village offices will be closed. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, too.
Frankfort Public Library: The library will have normal Friday hours.

Frankfort Park District: Offices will be open Friday, but the park district will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time.
