GENEVA, IL — A contractor for the City of Geneva will collect asphalt core samples at four locations along South Street on Aug. 8.

The samples will be taken throughout the day between Eighth Street to Gary Lane. The samples will allow the city to evaluate the existing asphalt quality to determine the best course of action for future street improvement projects in the area, according to a news release.

Two-way traffic will be allowed, with flaggers present to help guide traffic, but officials said drivers should expect minor delays.
