Geneva student earns spot on UW-Whitewater football roster

Caden Naselli from Geneva, IL, who is studying Criminology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has earned a roster spot on the Warhawk football team for the 2023 season.

Established in 1889, the Warhawk football team has won six national championships and 39 WIAC titles. Last year, the team finished 8-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play and reached the first round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

Native of Geneva interns with at department of health and environmental control

Deeanna Perry, a senior Public Health/Global Health major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control in Laurens, South Carolina.

A resident of Geneva, Illinois, Perry works with the Community Engagement team of DHEC at the Laurens County location. She attends meetings and events that her supervisor is associated with as well as reorganizes past projects for documentation purposes.

"My internship experience has taught me the value of community involvement in public health interventions," said Perry. "I have had various hands-on experiences with how the health department engages with the community to improve health outcomes."
