GENEVA, IL — Reconstruction work on Fabyan Parkway at the intersection with Western Avenue is "substantially complete," Geneva officials said.

All lanes of Fabyan Parkway have been restored and reopened to drivers as of Nov. 21, according to a news release. The Kane County Division of Transportation-helmed project began in late May.

Minor work remains, and officials expect it to be completed in the coming weeks. The construction could potentially require temporary daily lane closures, but they will impact traffic minimally, Geneva staff said.

Construction included earth excavation, roadway construction, hot mix asphalt pavement, storm sewer facilities, drainage structures and landscape restoration. The project also reconstructed the existing multi-use path that runs along the south side of Fabyan Parkway from Western Avenue to Route 31.
