Geneva Street Improvement Updates: Water Main Almost Done, Pavement Milling Coming Up

Some parking lot projects will begin after the Swedish Days festival, officials said in an update.

GENEVA, IL — All sidewalk and curb repairs along Lewis Road between Peck and Miller roads, including cul-de-sacs, are schedueld to be completed by June 20, city officials said.

The asphalt pavement will be milled in late June in the Lewis Road area once the concrete work is completed. A schedule will be announced soon, officials said in a Geneva Street Program update Friday.

Crews began removing sections of sidewalk and curbs Friday on Northhampton Drive from Kaneville Road to Williamsburg Avenue.

The Mead Court water main lining construction is expected to be mostly complete by Friday, officials said. Once the infrastructure is inspected and tested next week, residents will be transitioned from the temporary water main back to the improved one without significant disruption.

City officials also noted the Hamilton Street parking lot and James Street parking reconfiguration projects will not begin until after the Swedish Days festival.
