Police said that the license plates had been taken off the vehicle but that when police ran the vehicle identification number, it came back as being stolen out of Colorado, police said. Police, working with K-9 units, came across a man walking in a field who identified himself as Miguel Vega.

The man told police he had been the driver who fled from Sycamore Police, who confirmed that is who they had pulled over, police said. However, when police took the man into custody and fingerprinted him, his identity was determined to be Carlos Diaz.
