Lane Closures Coming Up For State Street Water Service Project

Crews plan to start construction after students have arrived at class for their first day of school.

GENEVA, IL — Both westbound lanes on a section of State Street will close Thursday to accommodate a water service project, city officials said.

Geneva Public Works Department crews plan to start replacing underground water services after 9 a.m., once students arrive at class for their first day of school, according to a news release.

The two lane closures will occur between McKinley to Lincoln avenues. Eastbound lanes will temporarily shift to accommodate one lane of travel in each direction. The city advised drivers to consider using different routes during construction or use caution when driving through the work zone.
