Lane Closures Likely Needed To Accommodate Division Street Water Main Replacement
The city finished a water main crossing in the area in 2023 in preparation for the full replacement project that started in September.

GENEVA, IL — Construction projects are underway throughout Geneva, and the latest, on Division Street, is for a water main project.
The City of Geneva is replacing a water main on Division Street, with construction stretching from Route 25 to East Side Drive. On Sept. 22, crews began equipment mobilization and utility location marking.
The existing main, located north of Division Street, will be replaced with new infrastructure on the south side. The city finished a water main crossing in the area in 2023 in preparation for the full replacement project.

Work will primarily take place on the south side of the road and will likely require a lane closure, city officials said. Drivers may encounter minor traffic disruptions at the intersection of East Side Drive and Division Street. Route 25 should not be impacted.
Water service will remain on for residents during the majority of the construction, with the exception being when homes are connected to the new water main. The city will provide at least two days of notice before the scheduled outages, which are expected to last less than four hours, according to a news release.

The project is expected to be finished in late November, weather permitting, officials said.
