GENEVA, IL — An 85-year-old man and his 88-year-old wife were killed in a crash Friday at the intersection of Bricher Road and Fisher Drive, Geneva police said.

Police said at around 1:40 p.m., a 2020 BMW X3 was traveling east on Bricher Road approaching Fisher Drive. As a 2005 Toyota Corolla was attempting to turn westbound onto Bricher from Fisher, it was hit by the BMW, which pushed it east of the intersection, according to police.

The crash also sent the BMW off the road into a wooded area of brush north of the intersection, where police say it sparked a fire that was quickly put out by firefighters.
