GENEVA, IL — Nicor Gas began its second natural gas main replacement project July 3 in Geneva, this time on the east side of the Fox River.
Construction and installation will be primarily completed through underground boring, but some pavement cutting and road closures will be required. Work is expected to be completed by late August, weather permitting, according to Geneva officials.
"Nicor Gas is committed to the modernization of our aging infrastructure, prioritizing the safety and reliability of our natural gas distribution system," reads a pamphlet about the project.
