No Charges Filed In Fatal Car Crash

Toxicology sample results are pending.

GENEVA, IL — No charges will be filed in a car crash that killed a DeKalb man and injured another early Sunday. One of the drivers, 28-year-old Adam L. Bruner, died from injuries in the accident, which took place around 1:20 a.m. near the 1400 block of West State Street.

The Aurora Beacon-News reported that the autopsy of Bruner determined the preliminary cause of death to be from multiple injuries due to a vehicle crash. The paper added toxicology samples have been sent to the forensic laboratory.

Bruner was driving a 2000 Honda Accord, which collided with a 2013 Volkswagen Passat driven by an 18-year-old Geneva man. They were both transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva. The other man was released.
