Work on the trail, located near the Union Pacific train bridge traversing the Fox River, is part of the Union Pacific Third Main Line project, which began in 2022 and is expected to be completed in spring 2025.

The primary north-south section of the eastern trail is open to pedestrians and cyclists, but the east trail feed, with access from the Geneva Wastewater Treatment Plant entrance, is anticipated to be completed on Dec. 20, officials said.
