Road Closures To Expect For Geneva Holiday Events: Police
Geneva will celebrate the holiday season with its annual Christmas Walk and Holiday House Tour the first weekend of December.
GENEVA, IL — With several Geneva holiday events just a few weeks away, police released a list of anticipated street closures.
Geneva will kick off December and the holiday season with its annual Christmas Walk and Holiday House Tour Dec. 6-7.
A tree-lighting ceremony will kick the weekend off at 6 p.m. Dec. 6, and for that, the Geneva Police Department and Geneva Emergency Management Agency will shut down Third Street from State Street to South Street at 5 p.m. All intersections along Third Street will also be closed, and temporary parking restrictions will begin at 3 p.m. in the downtown area to prepare for the Christmas Walk.

The Holiday House Tour, for which tickets are required, will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at the following addresses:

Parking restrictions will be applied to streets surrounding each house to allow visitors to safely walk and to provide necessary clearance for emergency vehicles, police said.
Police and GEMA volunteers will be downtown during the Christmas Walk. Police might also use a drone may be used for real-time aerial monitoring, officials said.
