Sidewalk, Curb Maintenance Starts In Geneva

If you've noticed white paint on sidewalks in Geneva, that means they'll be replaced and removed this summer, officials said.

GENEVA, IL — Maintenance has begun on several sidewalks and curbs throughout Geneva, officials announced.

Saw cutting began late last week on portions of sidewalks and curbs marked with white paint. A map showing where maintenance is planned is published on the city's website.

Old squares will be removed Aug. 4-6, and forms will be set and concrete will be poured Aug. 6-9. Once the new surface is smoothed out, it will need five days to cure. The work will disrupt some residential driveways, officials said.
