Street Closures Planned For Geneva Christmas Walk, Holiday House Tour
Some road closures and parking restrictions will be in place for the two annual events in downtown Geneva.
GENEVA, IL — Several street closures are planned Dec. 5-6 to accomodate the Christmas Walk and Holiday House Tour in downtown Geneva.
The beloved events will kick off the holiday season in Geneva. The Christmas Walk will take place from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 5, and the Holiday House Tour will run simultaneously from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and again from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the next day.

The Christmas Walk tree-lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Dec. 5. The event will require Third Street to be closed from State Street to South Street starting at 5 p.m. All intersections along Third Street will also shut down. Temporary parking restrictions will go into effect at 3 p.m. that day.
The roads will reopen once the Christmas Walk ends, around 10 p.m.

Police officers and the volunteers from the Geneva Emergency Management Agency will be stationed downtown to help guests. Police may use a law enforcement drone to provide real-time aerial monitoring, officials said.
The Holiday House Tour, for which tickets are required, will visit these houses:
- 511 Fargo Blvd.
- 1118 Fargo Blvd.
- 833 Sunset Road
- 318 N. Second St.
- 227 Ford St.
Parking restrictions will be enacted on streets surrounding each Holiday House Tour location to make way for emergency vehicles and ensure visitors can walk safely through each neighborhood.
The Steeple Walk will take place the same weekend. Concertgoers will visit four churches Dec. 7 to hear 20-minute concerts at each.
