Third Main Line Update: Fence Installation Begins At Commuter Lots
The entire Third Main Line project is expected to be completed in the spring, city officials said.
GENEVA, IL — Fence installation will begin in the Third Street commuter parking lots this week as part of the ongoing Third Main Line project.
Signage will also be added to the Route 31 overflow parking lot beginning this week, while the Wastewater Treatment Plant fence will be replaced this week and next, city officials said.
The Fox River Trail access will remain open to the public during the project.

Operations to build a third railroad line between Peck Road in Geneva to West Chicago began in 2022. Construction will continue into the spring as Union Pacific crews install the third rail, train track traffic signals and other roadway improvements, according to a news release.
Union Pacific has not provided the City of Geneva with a start date for its remaining tasks.
