Trial for Geneva Man Accused of Killing Wife to Begin Next Week

The trial is anticipated to last for two weeks.

After a delay in November that moved his trial from Dec. 8 to Feb. 2, Shadwick King’s trial is set to begin next week.

King, 47, of the 800 block of Oak Street in Geneva, is being held on a $1.5 million bond on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Kathleen King, 32, of Geneva, according to Kane County State’s Attorney Office.

The body of Kathleen King was found on the Union Pacific Railway tracks south of Esping Park, 227 Briar Lane, on July 6. Authorities said Kathleen died of asphyxiation at some point after 5 a.m. on July 6.
