GLEN ELLYN, IL — The general election is Nov. 5, but early voting had been underway in Illinois since Sept. 26.

The hottest race on the ballot is the presidential election, pitting Vice President Kamala Harris against former President Donald J. Trump.

In Illinois's 6th Congressional District, incumbent Rep. Sean Casten will defend his seat against Republican challenger Niki Conforti.

The state's 11th Congressional District will see Rep. Bill Foster challenged by Republican candidate Jerry Evans and write-in candidate Anna Schiefelbein, an Independent.

Registering to vote

Not sure if you’re registered to vote, or need to change your address? You can find out here. If you're not already registered, you can register on Election Day.

If you want to register in person, you can do so at driver’s license facilities, your county clerk’s office, city or village offices, township offices or public libraries. Before heading out, check to where to register to vote in person on Election Day.

Voters who do register in person, will need two forms of ID, and at least one that shows their current address.

Election Day

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. If you are already in line to vote when the polls close, you can still vote — so don't leave!
