GLEN ELLYN, IL — A recent grant of $15,400 from the DuPage Foundation will help Go Green Glen Ellyn in its ongoing mission to deter waste from single-use plastics.

The nonprofit plans to use the money for the following initiatives:

  • Creating branded, recyclable aluminum cups to be used at local events
  • Installing a bottle-filling station at Ackerman Park
  • Developing a rental "library" for community events that offers reusable drink dispensers, utensils and more

“One of the things we love about Glen Ellyn are all the community events, but these events
generate large amounts of additional waste, primarily of single-use plastic,” Go Green Glen
Ellyn President Jacquelyn Casazza shared in a statement.
