Halloween In Glen Ellyn: Trick-Or-Treat Times, Safety Tips, More
The village recently released its suggested trick-or-treat times for Halloween 2024. See when your ghosts and goblins should head out.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Police Department recently announced the village's suggested trick-or-treat times for Halloween 2024.
It's recommended that trick-or-treaters head out between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Police also shared the following tips to help ensure a safe and happy Halloween:
- Stay in groups
- Only approach homes that are well-lit
- Stay on sidewalks
- Cross streets at crosswalks
- Carry a flashlight
- Don't go into a stranger's house
- Make sure parents inspect candy
- Have children take a cellphone if they're not with an adult
Just before Halloween, Glen Ellyn hosts its annual Halloween Festival and Parade. The event will take place downtown on Oct. 26, with the parade stepping off at 9:30 a.m. from Duane and Forest. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids can trick-or-treat at businesses downtown and take part in other Halloween-themed activities.
