Suburb Goes All Out For Hokusai Exhibit Opening
Three murals will be unveiled starting May 23 in Glen Ellyn to coincide with the opening of Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Downtown Glen Ellyn is prepared to go all out to celebrate the upcoming Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World, which opens at Cleve Carney Art Museum on May 31. The activities will feature murals on three beloved village landmarks, hand-painted dragons and paper lanterns throughout the downtown area, an origami scavenger hunt and more.
The brilliant murals will be unveiled at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse at 12 p.m. on May 23, at Five O Four Kitchen on May 27 at 4 p.m. and at Paris Baguette at 7 p.m. on June 9.
On May 29, NŌ-GUN, A Walking Murder Mystery Event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with several stops throughout downtown Glen Ellyn. Admission includes a reception and light hors d'oeuvres from Marche and access to a cash bar. The interactive murder mystery is set to start at 6 p.m., with attendees split into groups of 12 to delve into the details of the faux murder.

Throughout the spring and summer, restaurants in Glen Ellyn will get on board to celebrate the Hokusai exhibit with Japanese-inspired and fusion dishes.
