LOMBARD, IL — The love of lilacs is in full bloom in Lombard as the village celebrates Lilac Time 2024. Visitor can take in hundreds of fragrant lilacs at Lilacia Park and buy some plants for their own yards during the event, which features lilac-themed activities through May 19.

May 10

Lombard Garden Club Lilac Sale

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More than a dozen cultivators will be on hand to offer hundreds of types of lilacs. Click the link to learn more about the lilac sale. Located on the north side of Lilacia Park.

Perennial Plant Sale

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visit the greenhouse at Lilacia Park to browse an assortment of perennials that are available for purchase.

Lilac Heritage Tour

11 a.m.

The Lombard Historical Society will host a guided tour of Lilacia Park that meets at the Carriage House at 23 W. Maple St. Each tour lasts about 45 minutes to one hour. Tickets are $8 per person. Click the link to register for the Lilac Heritage Tour.

May 11

Kids' Day at Lilacia Park

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Grammy-nominated performer Nanny Nikki will sing children's songs in a show that features puppets, dancing and more, starting at 3 p.m. Kids can have fun creating art and playing games before, during and after the show.

Victorian Cottage Tour

12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Guided tours explore the Victorian Cottage House Museum, providing a peek into life in the late 1800s. The 45-minute tours are free, but guests must click the link to register in advance.

Rosie & The Rivets play Lilacia Park

2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Rosie & The Rivets perform retro tunes during a special Mother's Day concert at Lilacia Park.

Lilac Mutt Strut 5K, 1-mile race

8 a.m.

Racers can take to the course with or without their pooches for the 19th annual Lilac Mutt Strut. Click the link to register for the Lilac Mutt Strut in advance.

Wine Tasting at Lilacia Park

7 p.m.

Visitors who are 21 and older can sample six different types of wines at Lilacia Park. In case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the Lombard Community Building. Tickets are $40 for residents and $45 for nonresidents and include a souvenir glass, six tastings, a complimentary glass of wine and a raffle ticket. Lilac Parade

1:30 p.m.

The 2024 Lombard Lilac Parade steps off from Glenbard East High School at 1:30 p.m. This year, the parade's theme is "Salute the Troops."
