GLEN ELLYN, IL — Marcia Ann Viale Bolster, beloved wife mother, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025.

Born in March 25, 1932, in Pittsfield Massachusetts, Marcia lived a life filled with love, creativity, watching her children in their respective sports and a passion for nature.

She pursued her education at Michigan State before earning her master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Hawaii. Her love for flowers and design led her to establish The Finishing Touch, where she brought beauty into the lives of many through her floral decorations.

Beyond her work, Marcia was an avid tennis player. She excelled nationally as an amateur. She found joy on the court, embracing the sport with the same energy and dedication that she brought to all aspects of her life. Marcia was also an active member of the community in Glen Ellyn, volunteering through such programs as The Park District, Boosters, The Ed Posh Scholarship and PTA..

She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert Carroll Bolster, and a loving mother to her children:
Pamela Carroll, Sarah Jane (William), Robert Carroll Jr., Thomas Craig (Julie). She also left behind grandchildren: Rebecca Zeller, Kristine, Billy and Eric Boockford, Robby Bolster and Kellie Fitzgerald and Cassidy, Caleb, Camden and Cienna Bolster. Great grandchildren Grayson and Norah Ewing, Daphne Boockford.

Marcia is survived by her brother Craig Mark Viale.

A private memorial celebration of Marcia’s life will be at a later date to celebrate her life and legacy.
