Mom Honors Daughter, Glen Ellyn Mom As 'Christmas Morning Every Day'

GLEN ELLYN, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Marilyn Mauritz, who nominated her daughter Wilhelmina Mauritz Shoger of Glen Ellyn.

What makes this Mom extra special?

My daughter was a partner in her raising and an easy child to have and we have a close bond of gab and laughter of shared moments from our lives together. Today she sparkles with a fabulous husband she met in her first year of college and with whom she has amazing communication. Her time is spent between her young children and her clinical psychology practice. She is devoted to her children and any number of varying activities and classes to give them such a wealth of experiences but their family fun is what she and her husband are both dedicated to enjoying. She has two book clubs as she loves to read and has shared that interest with her children. She is a film devotee and started writing reviews in her college days at UofMich. She values friendships intensely and is a steadfast friend. She owns both cheerfulness as well as a great sense of humor. For all these reasons, I have always referenced her as "my Christmas morning every day!" How lucky I have been!

Why do you feel this Mom deserves the spotlight?

She possesses such depth and scope within her life.
